Dr. Helene Vossos is a nationally board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, adult nurse practitioner, nurse educator, author and nursing leader. She began her journey caring for others 30 years ago, became a nurse educator in 2004 and a dually boarded nurse practitioner in 2010. She joined the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2021.
Dr. Vossos is the President-Elect 2021/President 2022 for the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA). She is on the scholar committee at the APNA, has authored many academic book chapters on mental health topics, including several on bipolar spectrum disorder, authored journal articles and presented at scholarly conferences. Dr. Vossos’ research centers on improving mental health/health promotion, access to mental health and partnering with students in doctoral translational clinical research aimed at improving health outcomes for population health.
Known as Dr. “V,” she believes, “There is no whole health, unless there is mental health.”
