Dr. Alateeq is an Assistant Professor at the College of Rehabilitative Sciences, Austin, TX campus. She obtained her master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Texas A&M University-Kingsville and her Doctor of Philosophy in Speech and Hearing Science from Arizona State University. Her research focuses on understanding the cognitive processes underlying bilinguals’ ability to control two languages, and how these processes may be affected by neurological damage.

Dr. Alateeq’s is also a licensed speech-language pathologist holding the clinical certificate of competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Her clinical experience involves delivering bilingual SLP services to Arabic- and English-speaking patients in medical and rehabilitation settings. She has provided speech, language, cognitive-communication and dysphagia assessment and treatment to patients with various neurogenic-based disorders.
