Dr. Gwen Morris completed a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration from the University of Central Florida (2009), a Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of St.  Augustine for Health Sciences (2011) and a post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions (2017).

She was certified as a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) in 2017 through the Hand Therapy Certification Commission and as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies in 2019. Previous professional experience includes outpatient hand therapy and lymphedema therapy, telerehabilitation, home health and skilled nursing.

She has served as the vice president of the South Carolina Occupational Therapy Association (SCOTA) in charge of annual conference planning. Volunteer work includes supervision of occupational therapy students at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) CARES clinic for pro-bono clinic, level II OT student fieldwork supervisor for a variety of universities, contributing editor of the American Society of Hand Therapists Times, blog writer for HandCare.org, clinical mentor of an entry-level occupational therapy doctorate student capstone project, and served on the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Institute Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

She presented research at the South Carolina Occupational Therapy Association’s annual conference and the American Society of Hand Therapist’s annual conference.

Past teaching experience includes as an adjunct professor for Lenoir Rhyne University’s Master of Occupational Therapy program and as a guest lecturer/facilitator with the Medical University of South Carolina.
