Dr. Macy Burr has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in psychology. She graduated from Stanbridge University with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2016. She has experience in outpatient pediatric clinics, home health, early intervention and school-based settings.  

Dr. Burr has researched animal-assisted therapy in occupational therapy. She teams with her therapy dogs to provide occupational therapy interventions and to volunteer in various settings. She is certified as an animal-assisted intervention specialist and is on the board of directors for the Association of Animal-Assisted Intervention Professionals.

In addition, Dr. Burr is a Certified Autism SpecialistTM through the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards and an Assistive Technology Professional through the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America. She also has a certificate in Ayres Sensory Integration through the Collaborative for Leadership in Ayres Sensory Integration.

Dr. Burr joined the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS) as contributing faculty in 2019 and transitioned to core faculty in 2022. In addition to teaching at USAHS, Dr. Burr provides school-based occupational therapy services.
