Dr. Lucente has more than 30 years of experience as a healthcare leader serving as a chief nursing officer and vice president of professional services for a regional medical center. As a healthcare leader, her accomplishments include involvement in the design and implementation of a new hospital, redesign of the nursing care delivery model, decentralizing services to improve patient care flow, implementing computerized medical record and electronic bar code scanning for medications and having a leadership role in accreditation and regulatory compliance. In addition, Dr. Lucente participated in initiatives to improve effectiveness and efficiency to improve safety and reduce costs.

She received her Doctor of Philosophy in Health Services Organization and Research from Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Lucente joined the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2017.
