USAHS awards this scholarship to one applicant each at the Dallas and Austin campuses in recognition of outstanding academic achievement. The scholarship funds are applied to tuition and fees only.
MS-SLP applicants for the 2024 Spring term at the Dallas and Austin campuses may apply for the Outstanding Academic Achievement Scholarship, which is awarded in equal trimester-based increments throughout the program. Deadline to apply is December 1, 2023.
The scholarship is awarded to the entering students who best meets the following criteria:
- Preferred minimum of 3.5 GPA on program prerequisites
- A short (500–1000 word) essay summarizing your academic experiences
- Only scholarship applications where a student has started and/or completed their CSDCAS application will be considered.
To retain the Outstanding Academic Achievement Scholarship, the recipient must:
- Remain a full-time student in good standing in the applicable degree program. Scholarships are not transferable to any other University degree program.
- Remain enrolled in all courses in the established curricular pathway for the applicable program. Withdrawing from a course would remove a student from the established curricular pathway, causing them to be ineligible for the scholarship for the subsequent trimester.
- Earn a minimum of a 3.5 GPA at the end of each trimester.
Any scholarship recipient who does not meet these requirements will be ineligible for the scholarship award for the subsequent trimester. The scholarship would be reinstated the following term if the student again meets the requirements.
To retain your scholarship, if awarded, you must take a full course schedule each trimester, remain in good academic standing and maintain an overall GPA of 3.25 or above. If you fall below a full course schedule or below the overall GPA of 3.25, you will have one trimester to raise your GPA to 3.25 or above. If you are unable to do so, you will be ineligible for the award in the subsequent trimesters.
