USAHS offers a series of scholarships designed to recognize outstanding academic achievement and reward personal accomplishments in community- and diversity-focused areas. These scholarships not only acknowledge past achievements but empower and motivate students to strive for continued excellence along their educational journeys.

PT Scholarships
Physical Therapy Dean’s Scholar
Value: up to $25,000 over the entire program
Program: Dean’s Scholars will have regular opportunities to interact with their Dean and faculty mentor to discuss topics such as coursework, clinical experiences, and career choices. They will be offered the possibility to explore professional development opportunities based on their area of focus, for example, in community service, advocacy, clinical excellence or leadership. They will also be invited to join the Dean’s Scholar Community Learning forum which will facilitate interprofessional discussions with Scholars from across the University’s five campuses in Florida, Texas, and California.
Applicable Programs: PT
Criteria: Undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.75 or above. Scholarship amounts vary based on cumulative GPA, term of entry, campus location, and the date of student’s admission application.
How to be considered: Complete your admissions application as early as possible. This scholarship is automatically awarded if qualifications are met. No separate scholarship application is required.
Notification: Newly admitted students will be automatically notified of their award along with notification of admission or shortly thereafter.
PT Scholarships
Physical Therapy Outstanding Academic Achievement
Value: up to $15,000* over the entire program
Applicable Programs: PT
Criteria: Undergraduate cumulative GPA of minimum 3.2 or above. Eligibility and/or scholarship amounts vary based on cumulative GPA, program, term of entry, campus location, and the date of students’ admission application. GPA alone does not guarantee the student will receive an award.
How to be considered: Complete your admissions application as early as possible. This scholarship is automatically awarded if qualifications are met. No separate scholarship application is required.
Notification: Newly admitted students will be notified of their award along with notification of admission, or shortly thereafter.
*Scholarship range for the Miami campus is $1,000-$25,000
OT Scholarships
Occupational Therapy Dean’s Scholar
Value: up to $25,000 over the entire program

SLP Scholarships
SLP Outstanding Academic Achievement Scholarship
Value: $7,500 over the entire program
Applicable Programs: MS-SLP
Criteria: Undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above; a 500-1000 word essay summarizing your academic experiences
How to be considered: Complete your admissions application to the MS-SLP program and submit your scholarship application by December 2, 2024.
Notification: The scholarship recipient will be notified of their selection prior to the Spring 2025 term start.
SLP Scholarships
SLP Community and Diversity Scholarship
Value: $5,000 over the entire program
Applicable Programs: MS-SLP
Criteria: Undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above; one-page essay that describes what makes you an ideal candidate for the scholarship based on your intention to provide speech-language services to your community or to linguistically diverse populations in your future clinical practice.
How to be considered: Complete your admissions application to the MS-SLP program and submit your scholarship application by December 2, 2024.
Notification: The scholarship recipient will be notified of their selection prior to the Spring 2025 term start.
Grants for OT & PT
Lighthouse Alumni Award
Value: $2,000
Referred OT and PT students who are admitted and enrolled with confirmation that program-specific admissions criteria are met and have attended classes past the add/drop of the first term, will be eligible to receive a $2,000 grant (paid to the University account toward tuition and fees). Students are limited to receiving this grant one time for their first term only.
Criteria: Incoming first professional OT and DPT students are eligible. Students are only eligible for this award one time and during their first term.
How to be considered: Step 1: Alumni must complete the USAHS Lighthouse Alumni Award Referral Program form to refer students. Step 2: The referred student must complete the form on this page.
Notification: Students who are admitted and enrolled in an entry-level OT or PT program will receive the grant once enrollment is confirmed, program-specific admissions requirements are met, and have attended class past the add/drop date of their first term.
Grants for OT & PT
PPOTD Grant for USAHS MOT Alumni
Value: $2,000*
Applicable programs:
All USAHS MOT alumni who are admitted and enrolled into the master’s entry track of the Post-Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy (PPOTD) program are eligible to receive a grant of $2,000 toward tuition The grant is calculated and applied on a per-credit basis. The total grant amount assumes the completion of the full number of credits in the program (24 credits for USAHS alumni). Any additional transfer or prior learning credits will reduce the amount of the grant awarded..
Criteria: Available to all USAHS MOT alumni for the Spring 2025 term.
How to be considered: No grant application is needed.

Nurse Practitioner Advance Grant
Value: $1,500–$15,000 over the entire program*
Applicable programs:
MSN PMHNP: BSN or RN entry $2,500
MSN FNP: BSN or RN entry: $7,500
DNP FNP: BSN entry $15,000
All new students who are admitted and enrolled in any of the above programs for Spring 2025 are eligible to receive a one-time Nurse Practitioner Advance Grant, paid to the University account toward tuition only and applied over the lifetime of the program The grant is calculated and applied on a per-credit basis. In addition, all new students admitted into an RN to MSN program who are ADN-prepared are eligible for an additional $1,500 RN to MSN tuition grant applied to the first trimester tuition costs.
Criteria: Available to all eligible students in our graduate nursing programs through the Spring 2025 term.
