Amanda Eaton, PhD, CCC-SLP specializes in adult medical speech-language pathology and is committed to advancing the education of future clinicians and the understanding of communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders in adults. 

She earned her Doctor of Philosophy with a specialization in Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of Missouri–St. Louis, where she developed a foundation in neural mechanisms underlying speech, language and cognitive functions. Her research and clinical work focus on aphasia recovery, intensive independent practice and interprofessional collaboration. She is active in local and national aphasia organizations, advocating for better resources and support for families impacted by aphasia. She founded the Group Rehabilitation for Aphasia and Communication Effectiveness (GRACE) program, which provides group therapy for adults with aphasia in the St. Louis, MO region at no cost. 

In August 2024, Dr. Eaton joined the core faculty at the San Marcos, CA campus. Her contributions to the field extend beyond the classroom, as she actively engages with community outreach programs to improve the lives of families with aphasia and other communication disorders.
