University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences Faculty to Present Research at American Physical Therapy Association Conference in San Antonio

Presentations at the Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) will bring together more than 11,000 of the brightest and most innovative professionals for the largest conference on physical therapy in the U.S.

San Antonio, TX – February 15, 2017 – University of St. Augustine Health Sciences (USAHS), a leading graduate institution that emphasizes health science education through innovative classroom education, will have faculty and alumni presenting key research at the American Physical Therapy Association Conference. In addition to the USAHS expert presentations, the institution will also have an exhibit booth (#606) with important institution and educational program information.

The conference, referred to as the Combined Sections Meeting (CSM), is one of the largest annual Physical Therapy Conferences in the nation, and will be held in San Antonio, TX, from February 15 – 18, 2017.

Ahead of the conference, USAHS Associate Professor of Neuromuscular and Neuroscience, Kristen M. Johnson, PT, EdD, MS, NCS, will teach a course titled, “Moving Forward from IV STEP: Application of Key Themes.” The focus of the course guides participants through goals to foster, guide and effect physical therapy practice over the next decade, with an emphasis on prediction, participation, plasticity and prevention. The course, which takes place on Feb. 14 and 15, from 8 a.m. to 5pm, in Texas Salon E, will feature discussions and case examples.

USAHS alumni and faculty are invited to the annual university social on Thursday, Feb. 16, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio. 

In addition, conference attendees who visit USAHS’s CSM booth (#606) can enter to receive a voucher toward Continuing Professional Education courses.
