The Health and Fun Fair is free, and proceeds from the race benefit the local Wildflower Clinic.
St. Augustine, Florida—February 12, 2015—The 16th annual USA 5K Health and Fun Fair will be held March 28 at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. The health fair is free and open to the public. The 5K walk/run registration fee benefits the nonprofit Good Samaritans Health Centers Wildflower Clinic, which provides medical and dental care to qualifying St. Johns County residents.
The race starts at 8:30 a.m. behind Flagler Hospital and curves down Shore Drive along the Intracoastal Waterway and returns to the front of campus. The top male and female racers will win $200, and there will be medals in several categories. The 5K will be professionally timed and scored by RaceSmith, Inc. Racers can register online.
The free Health and Fun Fair goes from 9 to 11 a.m. on campus and will include cholesterol and health screenings, post-race massages and information about physical and occupational therapy, nutrition and wellness. There will also be free food from event sponsors, music, inflatables, face painting, super heroes and police, fire and marine rescue vehicles.
