New building

New Beginnings

On February 24, 2025, the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS) officially moved its St. Augustine, Florida campus to a newly designed, purpose-built facility at 1 News Place, St. Augustine, FL. The state-of-the-art campus includes the preservation of the historic building.

This marks the next chapter in USAHS’ history, transitioning from its previous home of over 40 years to a 122,000-square-foot building just two miles west. The campus, set on 14 acres of scenic parkland, offers more usable space and supports the University’s vision for growth.

At a total cost of around $74 million, the new campus reflects USAHS’ ongoing commitment to the future of health sciences and investment in student success.

Expanding Opportunities

USAHS’ vision for growth centers on enhancing student learning. “Our previous St. Augustine campus had around 1,024 students, and with this new campus, we hope to expand enrollment by providing immersive experiences that will help prepare graduates for long-term success as effective, interdisciplinary problem-solvers and leaders in their professions,” said Stephanie Furlough-Morris, USAHS CFO, SVP Campus Operations.

Vivian A. Sanchez, USAHS Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer, emphasizes the university’s commitment to progress, stating: “We pride ourselves on innovating and responding to the ever-changing needs of today’s healthcare practitioners.”

“With this expansion, we can continue to fill practitioner gaps and address the diverse needs of hospitals and healthcare facilities in St. Augustine and in the other communities we serve in all 50 states. The University’s new campus is a demonstration of our commitment to the broader community.”

Additionally, there are cadaver and Anatomage anatomy labs, a research lab, four hands-on labs, four learning studios, a recording studio for professional videos and class lecture production and upgraded AV/IT technology throughout the entire space. The campus also offers an expansive student lounge, study spaces with student learning support technology, faculty and staff offices, workspaces, conference rooms, enhanced student amenities and 490 parking spots.

Preparing Future Leaders

“We are so proud to announce this exciting development, which supports our commitment to providing cutting-edge immersive learning experiences for students and helping prepare them for long-term success as effective, interdisciplinary problem-solvers and leaders in their professions,” said Dr. Maria Puzziferro, USAHS Dean of Teaching, Learning and Innovation.
