Dr. Angelina Muñoz has been practicing occupational therapy since 2004. Her clinical focus has been in pediatric practice with diverse populations. Dr. Muñoz has practiced throughout Southern California and Southern Nevada in sensory-based clinic, school district and pediatric hospital settings. Her area of emphasis with school-age populations includes autism spectrum disorder and community transitions.
Dr. Muñoz completed her Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) at the University of Southern California in 2016. Her residency work analyzed and implemented improvements in professional education for interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams. Her work in program development has extended to include contributions in the development of an emerging OTD program, with specific work in community partnership development. Within that role, Dr. Muñoz continued her commitment to diverse populations through advocacy work for first-generation and BIPOC communities within higher education. Additionally, she has contributed to research on the BIPOC occupational therapy faculty experience in higher education.
Currently, Dr. Muñoz is involved in community partnership development for diverse fieldwork experiences. Her focus in fieldwork education includes incorporating inclusive teaching practices to best meet student needs. She also continues to partner with colleagues and students in advancing inclusion and belonging in the classroom and higher education environment.
Dr. Muñoz has been an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and Assistant Professor at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences San Marcos, CA campus since 2022.
