Casey Keck, PhD, CCC-SLP

Before joining the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2024, Dr. Casey Keck worked as a clinical speech-language pathologist on interdisciplinary neurorehabilitation teams in pediatric outpatient settings. Her primary teaching interests are cognitive and communication skills across the lifespan, particularly after acquired brain injuries. In her courses, she employs active learning strategies such as problem- and case-based learning approaches and evidence-based frameworks to teach students the clinical skills needed to collaborate with clients of all ages, their families and other professionals.  

Dr. Keck’s research focuses on cognitive-communication skills after traumatic brain injury (TBI) sustained early in life, social communication and social participation after TBI, interprofessional collaborative practice/interprofessional education and clinical practices such as goal writing. The primary purpose of her research is to improve individuals’ social participation in real-life activities after TBI.
