Research Interests

Promoting effective learning and knowledge-retention strategies among college students

Lynea Upson is a licensed occupational therapist with 20 years of experience across diverse settings, including acute care, sub-acute care, outpatient rehabilitation, pediatric home health, pediatric outpatient clinics, the public school system and higher education. 

From 2015 to 2022, Upson was an instructor at Parker University, where she helped establish the occupational therapy program and secure initial accreditation for its occupational therapy assistant program. She joined the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences as a core faculty member in December 2024.

Upson holds certifications to provide Interactive Metronome therapy and fit the SaeboFlex orthosis, and she has received specialized training in rebound therapy. In 2021, she earned an advanced practice certification in neuroscience and is currently studying to obtain a Doctor of Occupational Therapy. Her research interests and clinical specialties reflect her commitment to advancing evidence-based interventions and promoting neurological rehabilitation.
