Admitted Student Services
For Admitted Students
Immersion Day
USAHS Immersion Days are held every trimester at each of our five campuses for Residential physical therapy and occupational therapy admitted students and virtually for our Flex, Hybrid Immersion and speech-language pathology students. At Immersion Day, you’ll have an opportunity to come to campus or visit us virtually to fully immerse yourself in the USAHS experience. You’ll learn about all aspects of student life on campus through interactive engagement in a conference-style setting. Current students, faculty and administration will present workshops, tours, interactive exercises, demonstrations and more to help you become acclimated to your chosen program. As an admitted student, you’ll spend this time in the shoes of your future self and leave as a member of the USAHS family. Talk with your enrollment advisor to register for our Immersion Day experience.
Virtual Meet-Ups
Our virtual meet-ups are for you to connect with faculty and other students, learn more about USAHS and have your questions answered. As a prospective student, you’ll get a feel for what it’s like to study at USAHS, in a stress-free setting. Talk to your enrollment advisor about scheduling one.
New Student Guidebook
Accepting your offer of admission is one of the first steps you’ll take to prepare for a successful start at USAHS. Your enrollment advisor will send you the New Student Guidebook, which is full of information, checklists and resources to help you easily manage the onboarding process and remain on top of critical deadlines so you’re fully prepared for your term start.
Student Success Advising
Together with faculty and staff, our Student Success Advisors share the responsibility of creating a positive student experience for all USAHS students. They serve on the front lines of student support and will work with you to answer questions, connect you directly with resources, and support you through barriers or challenges you may face along the way. Together with Faculty Advisors and Program Directors, Student Success Advisors are dedicated to helping students succeed. Some of the assistance they provide includes:
- Supporting you in the transition from undergraduate to graduate school
- Supporting and providing you with useful time management techniques
- 1-on-1 support to help you conquer barriers that may be impacting your academic progress
- Helping you build resilience and motivation on your path toward graduation
- Connecting you with additional campus resources
After your admission to USAHS, your Student Success Advisor will reach out to you with an invitation to join a Q&A session or connect with you prior to new student orientation. This is a great opportunity to ask questions about onboarding, orientation or any details about the term start before your first day of class.
Virtual Information Sessions
Admitted students can learn more about clinical education requirements, financial aid options and how our financial planning advisors can assist you in one of the many virtual information sessions USAHS offers. We encourage you to register for these virtual events to learn more about key steps you’ll need to take to prepare for a successful term start.
Housing Support
USAHS does not have on-campus housing for admitted students but makes resources available to help you explore options and find roommates. Go to housing.usa.edu and click on your preferred campus to connect to a listing of apartments and rental units within the local area. You can also access the Roommate Request and Housing Information Portal for more information after logging onto MyUSA.
Student Readiness Orientation
USAHS hosts an online course for admitted students titled “Learning at USAHS: Student Readiness Orientation.” Delivered through Blackboard, this self-paced course features activities and interactions specifically designed to prepare you for success at USAHS. Through discussions, interactive multimedia and synchronous sessions you’ll gain experience using the core USAHS learning systems, tools and technologies.
The student readiness orientation is also an invaluable opportunity for admitted students to make connections with their peers, program leaders and faculty from across our five campuses. You can refer back to it throughout your time at USAHS for a refresher and to review support materials.
New Student Orientation
The USAHS New Student Orientation is held on campus for Residential admitted students and virtually for Flex, Hybrid Immersion, speech-language pathology and post-professional students prior to the start of classes in your first term. It is designed to help you gain confidence as you become familiar with USAHS, your program and the resources available to you to help you succeed throughout your student journey.
Your Student Success Advisor will share more information about your specific New Student Orientation event.
